History

Meat processing and packing factory building in Zhlobin was stipulated by project feasibility study concerning meat industry in Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic in the 1971-1975 with the outlook up to 1980.

Meat processing and packing factory's capacity according to the plan was to be:

- meat manufacture - 100 tons per shift;

- cooked meats - 15 tons per shift;

- 4000-ton refrigerator.

The startup of the meat processing and packing factory consisted of three stages: compressor shop with a refrigerator launch in 1975, meat-and-fat building introduction in 1976, and meat-processing building launch in 1977.

According to the order of the Ministry of meat and dairy industry meat processing and packing factory became the base enterprise for innovation adoption in 1980. Starovoitov A. was the industrial leader at that time while Lesizin A. was the chief engineer. Pig processing line extension was being done in the period from 1980 till 1992, which allowed increasing meat manufacture capacity (it reached 127.5 tons per shift). Four ammoniac cooling plants made in Germany were introduced. A refrigerator was partially reconstructed: separate cooler, freezer, and storage chamber were introduced along with a new method of air distribution. Smoked sausages' and smoked foods' production was introduced if speaking of sausage production. New machinery for the time was used including massaging devices, meat comminutor, multi-needle syringe, and Austrian mincemeat mixer. The production of meat dumplings was organized and Italian equipment set used for smoked sausage production was introduced.

Meat-processing building re-equipment was started in 1994 by the factory's head Kuzmenkov S. and main engineer Seluk M. That was the result of the work done: 9 heat chambers produced by "Intermix"; 3 ice generators, 2 massaging devices, 2 330-liter meat comminutors, vacuum mincemeat mixer, peeling machine, sausage stuffer, and a quick-freezing unit that assures byproducts freezing of the exact weight. There were also new refrigerating units introduced in two chambers of the sausage shop dispatch office. These units kept up preset temperature-humidity conditions.

All of the machinery and equipment mentioned above was made abroad.

At present the enterprise boasts of technical feasibility needed for maintaining the brand and for staying highly competitive.

"Zhlobin Meat Processing and Packing Factory" is a public corporation since 1997 and the state share is 39.7%.

"Zhlobin Meat Processing and Packing Factory" PC was reorganized in 2004. Such companies as "Zhlobin Feed Mill" PC, "Stepskoi" agricultural manufacturing cooperative, and "Central Company of Zhlobin Agrarian Financial and Industrial Group" PC entered the enterprise's structure.

"Zhlobin Meat Processing and Packing Factory" agrarian and financial industrial company PC was registered in December 2004. The company boasts of such subsidiaries as "Feed Mill", "Public Catering", and "Firm".

"Zhlobin Meat Processing and Packing Factory" AFIC PC is the parent enterprise of Zhlobin agrarian and financial industrial company.

Managerial and control functions are divided between stockholders' meeting, supervisory board, management, and CEO.

Impressive technical capacities and modern technologies allow the enterprise to produce at present:

- first class meet of all types without by products           127 t/cm;

- cooked meats                                                15 t/cm;

- dry feed for animals                                        6.4 t/cm;

- semi-prepared foods                                         5.6 t/cm;

including meat dumplings                                      1 t/cm.

The range of goods that is presented on the market at present consists of more than 400 items of meat foods and delicacies. 33 items of meat foods were put into production in 2004, which made up 22% of all the items produced. The range of meat foods is constantly renewed depending on the demand.

Here are the trends of meat foods range's changes: design improvement of the sausages and semi-prepared foods; taste properties improvement of the integrated products; and use of advanced technologies in manufacture, which allows cutting production costs and prolonging keeping time for meat foods.

The winners of "The Best Goods of the Republic of Belarus" contest were

in 2004:

- smoked pork collar "Rozhdestvenskaya";

- premium quality summer sausage "Stolychnaya";

- premium quality summer sausage salami "Svyatochnaya".

in 2005:

- semi-prepared meat foods meat dumplings "Russkye";

- canned meat "Slynyna Tushenaya" (stewed pork);

- summer sausage salami "Prazdnichnaya";

- sausages "Doctorskye Elitnye" of premium quality.

in 2006:

- Meat prepared food in marinade Ribs "Populyarnye as well as meat dumplings "Molochnye" got "Gust" tasting conest award in "semi-prepared foods and delicacies" nomination;

Premium quality smoked and cooked small sausages "Romanovskye" got laureate award in "The Best Goods of the Republic of Belarus" contest.

The following products got laureate awards in "The Best Products 2006" contest in "meat foods" nomination:

- meat dumplings "Stolovye" and "Molochnye";

- smoked and cooked small sausages "Romanovskye";

- smoked gammon "Domashnyi";

- premium quality summer sausage salami "Italyanskaya".

Sale is made on the contract basis by means of wholesale deliveries and the buyer is either from state or private distribution network. The factory itself boasts of 11 company outlets, 8 exhibition halls, and 5 public catering establishments with 260 seats total. Retail turnover made up 5864.9 billion BLR in 2004. There is a firm in Gomel that is responsible for sales in other regions of the Republic and in CIS countries as well as for minor wholesale trade for cash.

The goods produced by the factory are much in demand as the range of products is extensive, factory prices are available, and the service quality is great.

1288 people work at the factory at present. They all work to accomplish one aim: manufacture of high-quality products that would meet the demand of the most hard-to-please customers.

Production line for Italian meat dumplings was organized. The output is 350 kg/h and there will also be fruit dumplings produced.

Canned food production was organized and its output makes up 10000 tins per shift; canned food mixed with porridges was also put into production.
